Hello!

Welcome to The Story of the Wandering Bookmark, a story being written by you and readers like you.

How far can a bookmark travel? How many books can it pass through on its voyage? What kinds of books?

We’re trying to find some of those answers.

(It’s a sister project to the insane coffee one. Check it out if you’re interested or like coffee.)

How it works:

  1. Please log the book you picked up using the form below. (Rest assured that I’ll never pass your e-mail on to anybody. Nor will I e-mail you each time my cat looks over her left shoulder.)
  2. Kick back with a cup of your favourite coffee and dive into your book.
  3. Once you’ve read the book, you have two options: either keep the book or put it back into circulation. But I hope you return the bookmark to a public book. You can return it in the same book if you liked it a lot, “upvoting” it.

Please log your find here:

So what? What happens next?

I will keep a tally of all the logged books. Hopefully there will be many of them, so that I can eventually make neat summaries and stats about them, ideally with animated graphs or maps. (See my homepage for examples from the world of coffee.)

None of this is certain. We’re talking a whole bunch of unhatched chickens here. Unhatched chickens that shouldn’t be counted.

But if something ever comes of it, I’ll set up a seperate page for it, send you the link to it, and keep it regularly updated.

That’s it.

So what’s the connection with coffee?

Nothing too profound. Coffee and books happen to be two of my favourite things. Few things are as deeply pleasant, I find, as curling up with a good book and a good cup of coffee.

Enjoy your book!

Chris
